US Justice Department Updates ADA Regulations and Standards - Posted 08/02/2010

The Department of Justice released updated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and standards on July 26, the 20th anniversary of the law’s enactment.  The rules update requirements for state and local governments covered by Title II of the ADA and those for private sector entities subject to Title III.
  The new Rules and additional information are available on DOJ's ADA website at http://www.ada.gov/regs2010/ADAregs2010.htm.

TRASA Now an Approved Provider of AIA/CES - posted 8/03/2010

TRASA is an approved provider of continuing education for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).  TRASA can now register courses to deliver to architects for credit.  See the TRASA events calendar for more information.



TRASA Forum- Posted 5-25-10
The Technical Standards Committee has revised the TRASA Forum to provide members a more efficient way of submitting and answering questions and cataloging information for reference. The Forum is divided into approximately 50 sections (Forums) covering Law, Administrative Rules, RAS Procedures and TAS.

TRASA Members may opt into these Forums.  The following link provides information on the Forum policy and information on activating the Forum for your use.

New Members - Posted 11/18/09

TRASA membership is for twelve months from the date you join.  The membership cost starting January 1, 2010 is $150.00 per year for a Standard Membership for a Registered Accessibility Specialist and $75 per year for an Associate Membership for a individuals who are NOT Registered Accessibility Specialists

 

Members enjoy the member discount rate for all training.  An individual can recover the cost of membership by attending one training session of 8 hours of TDLR certified continuing education. This is calculated by factoring in the member rate verses the non-member rate.
